HABLAMOS JUNTOS: together we speak Broadside Project
PVA is committed to "Bringing the community together through the arts". We work collaboratively to develop and promote opportunities for public participation in and appreciation for the arts. We have launched a broadside project that brings contemporary Latino art into the classrooms of 7-11th graders in Santa Cruz County schools.
We have partnered with Museo Eduardo Carrillo, an online museum dedicated to extending the Carrillo’s work, to advance our mutual objectives of bringing Latino art directly to the widest audience. The Broadside project:
- Brings contemporary Latino art into the classroom to highlight the art and tell the artists’ stories
- Offers 10 full color two-sided broadsides (11"x17") that include male and female artists covering a spectrum of disciplines (sculpture, printmaking, painting, and computer generated imagery)
- Provides downloadable content for free and easy access that can be shared with a broader audience
In the words of the writer Lucille Clifton, we offer “Mirrors and Windows” to our viewers and bring the community together through the Arts.
